Open Channel Flow Measurements in an Irrigation Canal

A SonTek/YSI Argonaut-SL (side-looking) current meter has been installed in a Texas irrigation canal. In this application, the water velocity measured by the Argonaut-SL is used to compute the open channel flow through the canal. Water velocity data from the SL is sent to a Sutron data logger using SDI-12 protocol, after which the data are then sent to a receiving station using UHF telemetry.
