Low-Flow Studies in Everglades with ADV

A researcher from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) at Stennis, Mississippi prepares tripod-mounted ADVs for a study of the extremely low flow fields of the Florida Everglades. This research has documented subsurface velocity maxima of roughly 8 mm/s in the vertical structure of the flow field (heavy algae growth on the surface inhibits shallow flow). This picture was graciously provided by Jon Lee of the USGS.
