Near Shore - Directional Waves
[II-B4]
I want to make measurements in the ocean. [change]
My area of interest is the near shore... [change]
...and involves directional waves. [change]
SonTek/YSI can address directional wave measurement needs in two ways: (1) with an
instrument developed primarily for directional wave measurement, or (2) by adding
directional wave capability to many of our standard systems.
The Triton-ADV is a low cost, low
maintenance system that combines a tide gauge, a directional wave gauge, and a current meter
in one compact, easy to use device. The Triton-ADV
is based on our state-of-the-art acoustic Doppler velocity technology and the most
advanced pressure measurement available today. The Triton-ADV uses the
well-established PUV (Pressure-Velocity) method for wave computations, which produces a
stable solution regardless of the wave environment. The Triton-ADV is a completely
self-contained instrument with internal batteries and a solid-state recorder that permits
multi-month deployments.
Many of our other instruments (ADP,
PC-ADP, Hydra) easily can be configured to
include directional wave capability
based on the same, robust PUV processing method. Our SonWave-Pro software
package offers flexible processing schemes, custom plots (surface, polar, mesh), and
time-series and spectral displays.
