The RiverSurveyor is the best
solution for obtaining discharge measurements from a moving boat. The
RiverSurveyor package consists of an Acoustic
Doppler Profiler (ADP) equipped with compass/tilt, DGPS interface, and
Bottom-Tracking capability. Compared to other similar systems, the RiverSurveyor is very
easy-to-use, especially with its Windows-based software that provides a real-time display
of the data as it is gathered, along with a running calculation of discharge. Blank spots
in the profile (the bottom, top, and sides of the river) are interpolated using standard
techniques. All data are stored in a single file for convenience.
