River Discharge Measurements - Tethered System

Our RiverCat system is designed to
measure discharge in areas where wading the stream or using a full-size boat is
impractical or unsafe. The system comes complete with a mini-ADP with remote electronics
mounted inside the hulls of an aluminum catamaran and uses radio modems to telemeter the
data to a laptop computer running our Windows-based RiverSurveyor package on the shore. This is
a fully-functioning discharge measurement solution, which includes measurement of the
velocity profile and bottom-tracking, as well as estimation of the unmeasured areas (river
top, bottom, sides). We can even include a DGPS if needed.
Compact and lightweight, the fully-assembled RiverCat can easily be carried
by the average person, and it fits in a single suitcase size container for easy
transport.
