As a result of the the ARRA of 2009, the USGS has purchased $3.4M worth of SonTek instruments. In addition to the popular FlowTracker and Argonaut products, the order also included 33 of the award winning, multi-frequency RiverSurveyor S5/M9 systems.

The RiverSurveyor received international media attention during the unveiling of 24 hydrological monitoring stations along the rivers of Colombia. President Juan Manuel Santos officiated the inaugural voyage of a RiverSurveyor-M9. News video.
