SonTek/YSI Opens Offices in
Beijing and Shanghai China
January 2003, Beijing/Shanghai, China –
SonTek/YSI's presence in China has grown with the opening of key offices in
Beijing and Shanghai, complimenting our offices in Hong Kong, Qingdao, and
Xiamen. Ribbon cutting ceremonies were held this month in both cities with key
representatives from the Ministry of Water Resources, State Oceanographic
Administration, State Environmental Protection Agency, Maritime Safety
Administration, and Research Universities in attendance.
The Beijing office will
serve Northern China while the Shanghai office's mission is to foster technical
exchange concerning emerging sensor technologies in water quality, hydrology, and
oceanography. This includes the Asian Hydroacoustics Center of Excellence (AHCOE)
where engineers, scientists, and government leaders from the Asia-Pacific Region
will be invited to provide training seminars, fact finding missions, and the
necessary expertise needed for the practical application of these new
technologies.
Shanghai is ideal due to its geographical position to support
major water projects in China such as the Three Gorges Dam, South to North Water
Diversion, Clean Seas, and building of Ports & Waterways. AHCOE will also
provide technical support for our network of sales offices in both pre-sales and
after sales activities.
If you are in China, stop by for a visit, or contact
