Titanium Argonaut-MD Systems
Sold to University of Miami
San Diego, California, April 9, 2003 – SonTek/YSI has
received a contract with the University of Miami to supply 21 Argonaut-MD
Doppler current meters in 6,000 m rated titanium housings to support ongoing
deep-water ocean circulation experiments.
"At the request of the customer, about half of the
Argonauts will have internally-integrated inductive modems," said SonTek’s Joel
Edelman. Edelman went on to say that these Argonauts "feature improved
electronic sensitivity for operation in low-scattering conditions found in the
deep ocean."
With thousands of systems in use worldwide, the SonTek
Argonaut is the world’s leading Doppler current meter platform.
