2D ADP (Horizontal ADP)San Diego, California, March 5, 2004 – SonTek/YSI is pleased to announce the sale of three 0.5-MHz Long Range SL-ADP systems to NOAA's National Ocean Service (NOS). The instruments will be used to measure horizontal current profiles in support of the PORTS (Physical Oceanography Real-Time Systems) project in lower Chesapeake Bay. There are now thirteen SL-ADP systems in NOS/PORTS, in locations ranging from Delaware Bay to San Francisco Bay and Alaska.

SonTek’s Joel Edelman stated: "We offer a selection of operating frequencies with our profiling systems, which allows us to provide the optimum solution for a customer’s requirement. The 0.5-MHz SL-ADP has an unmatched combination of range and resolution. We have been supplying current profiling systems to NOAA/NOS for over nine years, and are happy to see them take advantage of our long experience in side-looking systems."
