SonTek/YSI Opens Service Centers in
Shanghai and Hong Kong
San Diego, California,
April 25, 2005 – YSI Incorporated announces the opening of fully certified service centers in
Shanghai, People’s Republic of China and Hong Kong. The service centers will
provide customers of SonTek/YSI Doppler systems with specialized services such
as system upgrades, inspection, testing, and repairs within the Asian region.
YSI products have helped the citizens of China monitor and protect their water
resources since 1986, when it opened its Hong Kong office. Since then, the
Company has opened additional sales offices in mainland China and complemented
its water quality product and service offering with the SonTek/YSI line of water
quantity products.
The Shanghai service center will serve mainland China and the Hong Kong service
center will serve customers across the Asia-Pacific region. The close proximity
of the new service centers offers users improved response time. On the first day
of operation, the Shanghai Service Center support team was able to diagnose, repair, and return an Acoustic Doppler Profiler within 24 hours to a
customer.
Daryl Slocum, director of service and support for SonTek/YSI, traveled to both cities
to inspect and certify operations at the service centers. His visit follows
extensive training for YSI China engineers at SonTek headquarters in San Diego.
In addition to local analysis, customers' systems can also be connected through
the Internet for remote diagnosis by support engineers in the San Diego
facility.
