Keynote Speaker Announced
December
2006 - SonTek/YSI in partnership with Qualitas Instruments, is
pleased to announce that the Keynote Address at its 2007
International Water Resources Users Forum
will be presented by the respected U.K. Hydrologist, Dr. Reginald Herschy.
Dr. Herschy, a retired Senior Hydrologist for the UK Environmental
Agency, is considered a world-wide expert in flow measurement methodologies,
open-channel hydraulics, and error identification associated with discharge
measurements. He is widely considered as one of the most influential
contributors to the science of hydrology in the past 30 years. He has published
over 80 papers and authored several books related to hydrology. His
credentials include:
- Former UK Government Research Officer on Hydrology/Hydrometry
- UN missions on Hydrology and Hydrometry to China, Kenya, Lesotho, and
India
- Former Chairman of ISO/TC113 (Hydrometry)
- Former Chairman of CEN 318 (Hydrometry)
- Chairman of British Standards Technical Committee on Hydrometry (CPI/113)

The 2007 International Water Resources Users Forum
will be held
January 24–26, 2007, in Barcelona, Spain. In addition to
Dr. Herschy’s presentation, over two-dozen users of acoustic Doppler methods
will present their experience and best practices in a formal setting, as well as
in the field. Presentation tracks include:
- Track 1: Wading/Stationary/Underway Discharge
- Track 2: Innovative Projects and Novel Solutions
- Track 3: Continuous Monitoring
- Track 4: Enhancement of irrigation, drainage, Hydropower and water supply
- Track 5: World Focus: Emerging modernization in Hydrology
- New Product Development and Special Topics
