Argonaut-MD Animation

Here is an animated example of how Argonaut-MDs collect data...

Argonaut-MD Animation This example simulates the transmission and reception of three "pings" from each of the Argonaut-MD's transducers. In reality, the Argonaut averages several pings for each data-point measurement to provide a more realistic picture of what the water current is doing at the selected depth.
  1. The blue "cones" for each transducer show the sampling volume within which the velocity data are integrated for the selected depth.
  2. The yellow sound waves represent the three outgoing transmitter pulses (pings) from each of the three transducers.
  3. The red sound waves represent the return and eventual display of velocity data from the selected water depth level.
