Argonaut Firmware Version
11.8
May, 2007 - SonTek/YSI has released Argonaut SL/SW/XR firmware version
11.8. This firmware includes minor changes in support of the
new low-profile SL
design (as compared to the original canister design). There is no need for
SL/SW/XR users to update to firmware version
11.8 if you already have firmware
version 11.7 installed.
- Added support for low-profile SL design.
- Improved vertical beam algorithms for all SL/SW/XR systems.
Argonaut Firmware Version 11.7
December, 2006 - SonTek/YSI has released Argonaut SL/SW/XR firmware version
11.7. This firmware includes several new features developed to improve
data collection and simplify operation.
- Total Volume - Now supports user-selected criteria (flow, velocity).
- Vertical beam data (SL and SW systems) now output as Stage.
- Optional Flow Display can now be used during SDI-12 data collection.
- Trapezoid channel dimensions (for flow calculations) increased from 100
to 1000 m.
- Maximum reference for analog output signals proportional to flow rate
has been increased to allow analog output use on larger rivers.
- Improved ice detection algorithms in the Argonaut-SW.
- Improved flow calculations for multiple (divided) channels (all channels
now calculated).
- Improved flow calculations for Argonaut-SW.
- Improved small cell size reliability in 750-kHz Argonaut-XR systems.
- Improved diagnostics.
If you wish to take advantage of the new features in this version, follow the
instructions below based on the version of firmware currently in your system.
- Argonaut SL/SW/XR Firmware Version 7.0 or later
This is a free update for systems that currently have v7.0 or
later firmware installed. We strongly recommend updating your system to this
new version. To do so, simply:
- Download and install the latest version of
SonUtils.
- v4.20 for
Windows XP/2000
- v2.50a for
Windows 98/95
- Download and install the latest version of
ViewArgonaut
(v3.62).
- Download the
Argonaut-SL/SW/XR Firmware Update package - This package includes release notes
that explain the new features and how to take advantage of them. It also
includes the firmware file, your serial number access code, and
instructions for loading the firmware into your system. Note: When you
use the above link, you must to enter the system serial number(s)
for the applicable system(s).
- Argonaut SL/SW/XR Firmware Versions before v7.0
Any systems with firmware versions before v7.0 would need to be
returned to SonTek for a hardware upgrade. There will be a fee for
this service. Please contact our Support team for an RMA to upgrade your
