SonUtils PDA Edition - This software package designed for use with a PDA contains utility

programs that can be used with any SonTek instrument. These programs, let you "talk"

directly to the instrument, download data from an internal recorder (if installed),

perform simple diagnostics, and more.

Features

• Terminal Mode - Lets you "talk" directly to your instrument using
  command line parameters. You can:
  • Manually enter input commands
  • Send a scripted set of commands to your instrument from
    a command file
  • Output data to a log file
  It includes a text editor to create, edit, save, and run command files.
  • Commands - Enter them with the on-screen keyboard, from a menu of most used commands, or from a user-made command file.
  • Connect Icon - Change communication settings or connect to another device.
  • Break Icon - Wakes up your system and enters command mode.


• Setup Argonaut - Special mode lets you quickly set up your SonTek Argonaut system for a deployment using a simple menu.
  • Deploy - The most commonly used controls all in one place.
  • Advanced - Wave and speed of sound settings.
  • Hardware - Information about your system (firmware version, serial number, etc).
  • Options - See which extensions are available on your system.
    
    
• Recorder Manager - Manage, clear, and transfer files from your instrument's (optional) internal recorder directly to your PDA.
  • Download - Transfer you files by selecting the one you want and pressing the Download button.
  • Format - Clears the entire contents of the recorder to make room for your next deployment.
  • Transfer Rate - Set the data transfer baud rate.

System Requirements

• One of the following PDA operating systems:
  • HPC - Microsoft Windows for a Handheld PC 2000 PDA. Processors supported include: NEC MIPS 39xx, Toshiba MIPS41xx, StrongARM.
  • PPC - Microsoft Windows for a PocketPC Standard Edition or Windows CE operating system. Processors supported include: NEC MIPS 39xx, Toshiba MIPS41xx, Hitachi SH3, StrongARM.
• SonTek acoustic Doppler instrument
• 8 MB of PDA memory (minimum)
• 8-bit color display (minimum)
• Serial port connection
