Instruments for Hydrology Training Seminars
Do you need a good introduction to making flow measurements using hydroacoustic
techniques? If so, attend SonTek's "Instruments for Hydrology" training
course. This 2-day course has been presented at several locations
across the USA and has been a major success. Classes held in Nevada, Indiana, and Colorado
have trained over 75 hydrologists, biologists, engineers, and technicians from national
and international agencies in the use of SonTek/YSI's advanced instruments for hydrology.
The advantage of this seminar is its premise of "learn by example." In
addition to basic water-measurement theory, attendees will actually have the opportunity
to program and install several types of SonTek equipment in a river setting, as well as
collect data and analyze the results.
SonTek training course instructors are true veterans, and have conducted thousands of
acoustic flow measurements around the world. A comprehensive training manual is also
provided to each attendee along with other technical publications.
Instruments for Hydrology subjects include:
- Acoustic Doppler Principles of Operation
- Instrument Specifications for RiverSurveyor ADP, Argonaut-SL, Argonaut-XR, and Argonaut-ADV
- Flow Measurement Principles and Velocity-Index Rating Method
- Planning, Programming, and Installing the Argonaut-SL, -XR, -ADV
- Real-Time RiverSurveyor ADP Discharge Measurement Principles
- Programming the RiverSurveyor ADP
- Data Analysis and Quality Assurance Techniques
- High-Resolution Sampling Using the Argonaut-ADV
- Examples of Flow Monitoring Station Deployments
- Examples of Real-Time RiverSurveyor Discharge Measurements
- Conducting real-time river discharge measurements using SonTek's newest
instruments, including the "Mini-ADP" RiverSurveyor Catamaran System (RiverCat)
