Argonaut-SL Current Meter
Easily installed on a riverbank, bridge abutment, or other vertical structure,
the SonTek/YSI
Argonaut-SL (Side-Looking) 2-axis (2D) current meter is an advanced Doppler sonar for precise water
velocity measurement in a horizontal layer. A third, vertical beam allows
for stage measurement. Robust, all-digital signal processing ensures
reliable data collection within a user-programmable cell extending up to 22 m away.
Flow disturbances caused by the mounting structure can be eliminated by beginning the
measurement cell several meters away from the instrument.
The Argonaut-SL current meter never requires calibration, and velocity accuracy is not
affected by biological growth. Options for water level measurement, water quality,
telemetry, and flow calculation extend the capability of the Argonaut-SL current meter to
a wide variety of applications.
