The SonUtils Windows-based software package contains utility programs that can be used
with any SonTek instrument.
With SonUtils, you can:
- "Talk" directly to any SonTek instrument
- Download data from an internal recorder (if installed)
- Calibrate the internal compass/tilt sensor (if installed)
- Load probe calibration files (ADV-based systems)
- Load pressure sensor calibration files (if installed)
- Update instrument firmware
(on systems that support "downloadable" firmware EPROMs)
Features
The Windows Vista/XP/2K version of SonUtils includes features that allow you to:
- Simultaneously monitor more than one instrument
- One instrument per COM port
- Up to a maximum of eight COM ports
- Run beam diagnostics on certain instrument types
(primarily ADV and Argonaut-based systems).
- Plot theoretical signal strength decay curve.
This curve is useful in viewing non-uniform features in a profile.
- Enhanced support for creating your own script files and command buttons
for use within SonUtils.
- Expanded help file in PDF format.
- Download internal recorder files at extremely fast rates using the included SonRecP program.
Cautions apply to this program, so read about SonRecP before using it.
- Set up communication parameters for use with SonTek's Modbus Interface Module (MIM).
System Requirements
- Any SonTek/YSI system
- Windows Vista/XP/2K (for v3.0 or later)
- Windows 98/95 (for versions before v3.0)
- 64 MB memory
- 5 MB available disk space
- Monitor capable of 800x600 resolution or better
- 16-bit color or better recommended
